Hello and welcome. I’m Ingrid, a figurative & plein-air fine artist living in West Cornwall. I love life. I love the experience of being alive - it is a precious gift. Art allows me to express this, and to learn about myself. It lets me explore my place in the world, and my place within myself.

My work typically engages with the experience of quiet times. Although I don’t intentionally ‘direct’ viewers to a particular message in my work, it is these special fleeting moments that I hope others may connect with, and relate to.

My compositions usually show a simple background or a limited palette, aligning with the quietness and mood of the subject matter. My land and seascapes focus on the light, colours, atmosphere, and feel of a place, experienced during times of self-reflection.

I enjoy experimenting with composition within the confines of the canvas or support I am painting on, as I attempt to arrange subject matter in a simple yet striking aesthetic.

I specialise in oils and make many sketches and studies in pencil, watercolour, pastel and charcoal. I've exhibited with London's Mall Galleries, also in St Ives, Cornwall and commercial galleries across the UK.

My work hangs in private collections throughout the UK, Europe and in the US. I have donated pieces of art to the Art for Youth Charity in London, the Edward Hain Centre in St Ives, and also St Michael's Hospital in Hayle, Cornwall.
